Service is really bad. I wanted to cancel the subscription and it was an awful experience. They hided the cancel option so you can not really cancel it after buying their product. They don't have phone customer service, which means you deal with email customer support, they don't response quick, you are in trap. Please, don't buy anything from square space!
I recently began building a website with squarespace only to have an error message pop up every time I try to open it the next day. I was on the verge of purchasing the business website but I kept declining my card which now I'm glad it did after reading other peoples frustrations. I was also frustrated when I went to find a number for customer service and there wasn't one. I hate supporting companies who put customer service last. And taking away your landline definitely shows that customer service isn't at the top of your priorities. For now, I'm going to head over to WIX and see what that's about. Sad thing is, I was scheduled to launch today but with no customer service to speak to and resolve my problems (page not loading) I have no choice but to push it back.

I bought things that I need in this site. Everything is good. I like its support. I recommend this site to my friends and relatives.
Built two websites with version 7.0 of their website builder. 7.1 is an absolute monstrosity, there are bugs and lag everywhere, and there is an incredibly large array of design restrictions and bottlenecks that make it almost impossible to incorporate more than one theme or font across the site. Use 7.0 or avoid squarespace all together, as they are expensive!
I loathe square space. Loathe. Every time a customer attempts to access something I have to reattach something or reconnect or re enter. Now I have attempted to check out my customer and he waited for over an hour because apparently my checkout is closed and I need to upgrade to a tier I am ALREADY IN!
Business is supposed to be done with as much ease as possible. When we pay for a site to do it for us it should work properly. It takes days for anyone to reach out and when they do they tell you to do guess work as no one seems to know how to fix anything. I called square and the man on the line told me the credit card was mistyped. Yes, the grayed out box with generic numbers in it as he completely ignored the large red box above it that stated my check out was closed. He continued to offer suggestions that were simply the silliest and the end result is my sitting here for three hours attempting to figure out why this site sucks on my own. I have never. I am going back to Shopify! Easy to build and operate and guess what, it is cheaper, I’ve never has an operational issue and when I need assistance I get an immediate response. This is so dumb i could just cry. Never again. I wouldn’t recommend you to an enemy.
I like that Squarespace is easy to create a website - no special coding skills necessary like for WordPress to make a beautiful page.
However, I really don't like Squarespace billing plans. I had used it for a while Business plan and then downgraded it to a Regular plan, and it turned out I cannot anymore attach Mailchimp to Newsletter sign up. In fact, for a whole month, I did not know this and lost a lot of possible e-mail leads. Nobody warned me that by downgrading to a regular plan I won't have access to this anymore.
Squarespace is a fraudulent company, stay as far away as you can. They had my self designed domain for two years. When I still was able to login, I cancelled my home page buy "stop auto renew". So what happened then? They sold my domain to a company called GoDaddy, and next it was with a Barbados company and I could buy it back for a few thousand USD. Now it is a scam page about people earning millions on bitcoin. They sold my domain and I can not get it back. Still they are rude enough to charge my Master card USD 180 - for what I don't know! I hope the rumour will spread fast and get this company out of business.
Sqaurespace is a great platform & we love it!

The option for deleting the account is onerous. They don't have a help desk to help you and they claim to help 24/7. It is a drop down menu with a list of items you don't relate to and at the end there is no where to submit your request.
Is this how you communicate with your clients. Since I signed up through my goggle account I am considering to cancel my google account all together so that they cannot charge my credit card every month. Understanding, consideration and thoughtfulness will not be found through Square Space's all automated system.
Designing a webpage is so frustratingly awful. The customization is extremely limited for fonts and spacing. The drag and drop system for content blocks is atrocious - there is no way to keep them from combining into one another. The list/grid system is almost uneditable without watching a "how-to" video. The most egregious thing of all is there is NO UNDO BUTTON! You will have to literally click "Done - Save" which automatically backs you out of editing, then click "Edit" to continue. Every. Single Time.
I should have stuck with Wordpress, but got pulled in by their marketing. I reached out to support several times to fix a problem over an image that would disappear every day on the main page of my portfolio. I reuploaded the image at least 5 times, it would show up on the website, and then disappear again the next day. They proposed any solution that I could do myself and had already tried. They haven't yet attempted to actually look through the coding of their platform.
Update: After reaching out to them 3 times, Squarespace acknowledged the issue was on their side and seemed to address it. It took too long to address this issue.
Update 2: Spoke too soon. The same issue happened again. Thanks Squarespace.

As a designer and user for the past 12 years, I never thought I would have the urge to post a truly negative review about Squarespace.
The quality of their customer service has declined rapidly since they've outsourced it and solving real problems that users have is not much of a concern to them anymore. The level 01 service employees are actually okay, it's the upper level people who are failing on all levels. Communication regarding open tickets is often handled very poorly and without any type of urgency. There was a time where it felt like the staff behind the product really cared about the customer and designers had a good feeling about recommending this product. After many years, I no longer recommend SQSP. There are a lot of competitors out there that deserve a second look. I for one will definitely start working more with other providers.
